Park group tries to distance itself from Mulgrew scandal

Two separate groups have used the “Friends of Dickinson Square Park” moniker, which has presented somewhat of an issue for the existing group devoted to keeping the Pennsport park looking its best.

A group by that named was formed in the ’90s, and as the Daily News reports, received more than $450,000 in state grants during its tenure.

Tied to that group is Robert Mulgrew. The Philly Traffic Court judge was charged with fraud last week.

According to the DN, a more recently formed Friends of Dickinson Square Park group has not received any state grants, and is completely separate from the group associated with Mulgrew.

Perhaps a name tweak is in order.
