Parents, educators ask and answer homework questions

Homework is supposed to help students with their schoolwork, but it can easily turn into an after-school nightmare for parents and kids.

In the first of WHYY’s parenting seminars, parents and educators came together to discuss best practices for homework. Behavioral Health reporter Maiken Scott reviewed the seminar and has shared the biggest takeaways, which include how much homework to assign and how involved parents should be.

Read about what parents, teachers and audience members had to say about the nightly assignments, and offer your input.

Already got the homework thing figured out? The series will tackle other subjects, the next being discipline. You can get more details and sign up here for that Oct. 11 seminar.
