New this year will be live music performances on nearby Powell Ln. from a jazz quintet and saxophone quartet. Pet adoptions and family-friendly canvas painting sessions will also take place at the same location.

The festival features plenty of kid-friendly activities, including sand art, face painting, ceramic tile painting and henna tattoos. And jazz musicians “Reverend” Chris Marshall and the Ben Turner Trio will return to perform at the Millennium Clock (Irvin Ave.)..After the festival ends, Night Market gets into full swing with a variety of entertainment until 9 p.m..

The inaugural event is BYOC – bring your own chair – for the scheduled outdoor movie screening (The Sandlot) and lawn chair concerts, Rabbit Stampede (Celtic folk) and Christopher Davis-Shannon Quartet (jazz).

There will also be sidewalk sales from local merchants, restaurant specials, free family yoga and cycle spinning classes, family games, plus an Atari party.
