Official Cherry Blossom Festival in NW Philly comes after peak bloom [photos]

The annual Cherry Blossom Festival kicked off in Germantown on Wednesday morning.

Last week’s snow and frost caused the peak of the cherry blossom season to be over before the festival was set to begin, however. 

A plan to plant six donated cherry blossom trees at the campus of the Pennsylvania School of the Deaf in Germantown has been postponed until the weather permits.
