Nutter was late paying his gas bills, records show

Philadelphia Gas Works went to Common Pleas court in May to begin the process of placing a lien on Mayor Michael Nutter’s home for failing to pay his bills, according to court records.

The $507.76 gas bill has since been paid, records show.

Mayoral spokesman Mark McDonald declined to comment on the circumstances that led to Nutter apparently not paying his bill.

“The Mayor is current with his PGW account,” McDonald said. “That is all I have for you.”
