Nutter vows to shut down club after weekend shootings

Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter has vowed to shut down the Felton Supper Club after nine people were shot there early Sunday morning. The Feltonville club has been shut down before, but the owner was able to reopen the establishment last month.

Five men and four women were shot at the club, the Associated Press reports, when two men left the building and opened fire on the sidewalk. The most seriously wounded was hit in the legs and back.

A judge granted permission for the club to reopen after the owner fought the city’s move to close the facility. A $5,000 reward has been offered for information leading to a conviction in the shootings.
