Nutter to sign public park land protection bill

From a press release issued by the Mayor’s Office:

“Mayor Nutter will sign an ordinance regulating the transfer of open, public park and recreation land under the jurisdiction of the Department of Parks & Recreation with strict new requirements. Under this ordinance, the Commission on Parks & Recreation will review requests for transfers of open, park and recreation land as well as evaluate proposals for substitute park and recreation land. The Commission’s recommendations will be reviewed by the Mayor and City Council, which will consider the Commission’s recommendations before approving or denying transfer requests for open, park and recreation land.”
