NTSB to discuss Paulsboro train derailment
The National Transportation Safety Board is wrapping up its investigation into a train derailment that caused a chemical leak in Paulsboro in 2012.
The NTSB on Tuesday will meet in Washington to determine the probable cause of the accident.
Seven cars of a Conrail freight train derailed while traveling on a bridge over Mantua Creek. One tank car released approximately 20,000 gallons of vinyl chloride into the creek and surrounding area.
The conductor and several residents were treated for exposure to the chemical.
Many residents reported upper respiratory problems, dizziness and eye irritation in the weeks after the derailment.
