Northeast High basketball coach’s death result of drowning

The Northeast High community is in mourning after basketball coach Bob DiFlorio died last week. The 57-year-old drowned in Churchville, and was found three days after he went missing, according to a report by the Northeast Times.

Foul play is not suspected, no suicide note was found and toxicology reports are pending. DiFlorio’s car was found Sept. 1 where he parked it on Hidden Cove Drive, and his body was found Sept. 4.

DiFlorio became Northeast’s coach two years ago after stints at St. John Neuman in South Philadelphia, Conwell-Egan and Morrisville High in Bucks County and Father Judge in Holmesburg.
