NJ Spotlight’s John Mooney discusses school election changes and NCLB waiver

NJ Spotlight’s founding editor John Mooney talks with NewsWorks Tonight Host Dave Heller about the effects of moving the state’s school board elections from April to November.

The new schedule also comes with changes in when voter approval will be required for school budgets. Under the new system, districts only must seek voter approval when they exceed the state’s 2 percent cap on tax increases.

Mooney and Heller also discuss what the implications are of the waiver the state received from compliance with the federal  New Child Left Behind program.
