N.J. National Guard unit returns home

More than 100 New Jersey National Guard troops are returning home from Afghanistan.

Several motorcycle groups plan to escort the 150th Engineer Company along Route 206 from Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst to the unit’s home base in Hammonton on Tuesday.

The unit is comprised of citizen soldiers from 19 of New Jersey’s 21 counties.

The unit deployed to Afghanistan to construct infrastructure and to take down military bases in order to return areas to their original state.
