Newark mayor to swear in 41 new firefighters

New Jersey’s largest city is getting 41 new firefighters.

Newark Mayor Ras Baraka on Friday will swear in 41 recruits who completed ten weeks of training at the fire academy.

For the first time, the graduating class includes a married couple and two women.

The class also includes 17 African-Americans and 9 Latinos.
