Newark hearing on

Newark City Council will vote on property maintenance codes that’s caused some confusion among residents.  

Last week, city leaders issued a statement clarifying confusion about the changes to the 2012 International Building, Property Maintenance and Fire Codes.  An original version of the ordinance would have required tenants to allow city of Newark inspectors inside their homes within 48 hours.  The city’s statement says that’s  no longer part of the ordinance that will be voted on tonight.
