New public library opens in Dover

The new Dover library, a project in the planning since as far back as 2004, will finally open its doors to the public this morning.

The new, 46,000 sq. ft. library at 35 Loockerman Street in Dover cost $20.8 million.  The new facility includes classroom space and a technology center for computer training among other amenities.

Delaware’s First Lady Carla Markell will read to a group of second graders from Dover Elementary as part of the grand opening ceremony.
