New partnership puts Philly crime on the map
A new partnership between the Philadelphia Police Department and CrimeReports.com is going to keep you a little busy.
Go to the site, type in an address, crime type or date and start scouring the city for crimes.
“It’s easy to use, timely and gives residents and businesses direct access through the Department’s website to crime data in their neighborhoods,” Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey said of the service in an announcement late last week.
Search crimes by type — maybe you’re looking only for property crime — or by date, if there’s a neighborhood rumor about a drug bust last week.
You can also set up an alert if you prefer the most up-to-date crime notices, or use the iPhone app to check stats on your phone. You can currently access six months of preliminary crime stats through the service, which has partners across the U.S., Canada and the U.K.
