New legislation will allow NJ taxpayers to support National Guard members and families
New legislation will now allow New Jersey taxpayers to support veterans, members of the National Guard and their families by checking a box on their tax returns.
The News of Cumberland County reports the legislation will allow taxpayers to donate to a special fund called the “NJ National Guard State Family Readiness Council Fund.”
The bill was signed into law by Governor Christie Friday.
Sen. Jim Beach (D-Camden) and Sen. Jeff Van Drew (D-Cumberland), Cape May, Atlantic City) sponsored the legislation.
Sen. Van Drew told The News of Cumberland County the legislation was the “least we can do to honor our members’ service.”
