New leader for Sussex libraries

For the first time in more than 25 years, Sussex County has a new head librarian.

Kathy Graybeal replaces Carol Fitzgerald as director of Sussex County’s Department of Libraries. Fitzgerald is retiring this month after more than a quarter of a century leading the county’s library system.

Graybeal will take over the job of supervising 43 library staffers at three county-owned libraries, and coordinate with staff at 11 independent community libraries in southern Delaware.
