New Jersey Democrats want to bring back the film tax credit

Democrats in New Jersey are looking to reinstate a tax credit Gov. Chris Christie vetoed last month.

Sens. Loretta Weinberg (D-Bergen) and Paul Sarlo (D-Bergen) say the state’s film tax credit stimulates the economy, as the Associated Press reports, but Christie has said there are other, more worthy programs and initiatives deserving of that money.

Christie eliminated the credit $420,000 credit that benefits productions like the Jersey Shore, and then thwarted Dems’ attempts to reinstate the credit at $50,000.
