New holiday market sets up shop in Dilworth Park
ListenA new market has sprung up in Dilworth Park for the holidays.
Before Dilworth Park was renovated, the Holiday Village offered gifts of the world to those seeking something special for the holidays. Now the Village is in LOVE Park — and Village originator Thomas Bauer has rechristened the Dilworth Plaza vendors as the Made in Philadelphia Holiday Market.
“We have local businesses here, all small Philadelphia-area businesses,” he said. “A lot of small crafters, artists painting things, photo artists …”
Dana Brogan, who set up his stand with photos, said it’s an opportunity to expand his business based in Lahaska and test market in the city.
“I’ve never had a store in a downtown setting, and I love it,” he said.
The shops will continue selling wares from tents through Christmas Eve.
