New Castle County Police sponsor Tuesday Hispanic Parent and Child Safety Academy

A four-week program is underway sponsored by New Castle County Police inviting Hispanic families to learn more about child safety issues.

The Hispanic Parent and Child Safety Academy will educate families about safety concerns and provide information about the variety of community resources that are available.  Parents may attend the academy with their children, ages 6 to 11, at no charge.  Sessions take place each Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at New Castle County Police Headquarters, 3601 North DuPont Highway, New Castle.  Highlights include a police K-9 demonstration, a visit by McGruff the Crime Dog, seminars on bullying, gang activity, bicycle safety and more.  To register, contact the Community Services Unit at 302-395-8050 or Hispanic Liaison Officer Sonia Trudeau, 395-8057 or strudeau@nccde.org
