New beginnings at the Reading Terminal

Seven couples were united in matrimony over Valentine’s Day lunch at the Reading Terminal Market’s Center Court at noon.  Common Pleas Court Judge Jeffrey P. Minehart married the locals one by one, surrounded by family, friends and diners who happened upon the scene.

Francis Hilario and his girlfriend of twenty years, Micose Corazon, called that the terminal is an “amazing” place to get married because of the diversity there.

“Even though a lot of the people are not invited, they will be a part of it no matter what,” said Hilario.   Of the future Mrs. Hilario, he said, “She’s my yesterday, today, tomorrow and forever.”  

Harry Jackson recalls meeting 22-year girlfriend Sheila Younger:  “She was a young girl stopping traffic and I told her one of these days you’re gonna be mine.”

Now, the two were finally headed for the altar, at least figuratively. Younger said that the secret to their long-lasting love is Jackson’s good attitude. Jackson said it’s all about fun. “I like to have fun. She likes to complain,” he said and laughed.

Gina and Edward Tate were married in 2010 but did not celebrate because of a death in the family. The Tates are renewing their vows on Valentine’s Day so that they have a new day to celebrate.  Their 14 month old son Joshua held the rings during the ceremony.  “In my eyes, the secret is communication,” said Mrs. Tate, “never hold anything in.”    

After the ceremonies, the couples and their families were invited into the Rick Nichols Room to enjoy a champagne toast and a Termini Brothers wedding cake.
