Neighborhood groups to host 44th annual Mt. Airy Day on Saturday

The 44th annual Mt. Airy Day will be held this Saturday, May 3 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the Cliveden grounds at 6400 Germantown Ave. 

The day is set to include live entertainment, food and a range of vendors including artisans, local businesses and community nonprofits.

Performances will take place on two stages and will include live acts from:

There will be a range of activies available for childen, too, according to East Mt. Airy Neighors executive director Elayne Bender, including a moon bounce and arts and crafts. 

“We’re hoping the anticipated beautiful weather will bring out residents and visitors to our beautiful and diverse community,” said Bender, adding that Mt. Airy Day is a “celebration of all that is good about Mt. Airy.”

Organizers are looking for additional help from volunteers, especially during set up from 7 to 9 a.m. on Saturday and to help clean up at 5 p.m. Interested volunteers can sign up onlineemail Bender or email Mt. Airy Day coordinator Janet Amato

Mt. Airy Day is put on by East Mt. Airy Neighbors and West Mt. Airy Neighbors annually. The rain date for this weekend’s event is Sunday, May 4.
