A Northeast couple will stand trial for the January death of their toddler. Herbert and Catherine Schaible,, 41 and 40, are accused of using prayer rather than medication to treat their 2-year-old son, who suffered from bacterial pneumonia. The couple, who belong to the First Century Gospel Church in Juniata, face charges of involuntary manslaughter, conspiracy and child endangerment.

Northeast Philadelphia airport got a special delivery last weekend when a flight from South Carolina brought in 15 dogs. The dogs were rescued by Cloud Nine Rescue in South Carolina, which aims to find new homes for dogs in kill shelters.

Students from Washington High School will be featured in the Young Philadelphia Playwrights’ Play Development Series with New Voices, workshop productions of student plays and monologues. During the weekend of Oct. 15-17, the students will team up with Philadelphia theater artists to perform their plays at Tomlinson Theater in North Philadelphia.
