Tony Stewart’s No. 14 Chevrolet Impala will be on display on Ridge Ave. this weekend
Award-winning Nascar driver Tony Stewart’s rubber-burning whip is making a pit stop in Roxborough Saturday, and he’s giving folks the green light to check it out, plus everything that’s under the hood.
The three-time Cup Series champion’s car will be starting its engine at the new All Seasons Car Wash and Lube on 6722 Ridge Ave., beginning at 10 a.m.
Mayor Michael Nutter is expected to attend the event at noon, although it’s not clear if Stewart’s No. 14 Chevrolet Impala will race the Mayor and his city-issued (see: totally souped-up) SUV around Roxborough.
Fourth District City Councilman Curtis Jones, Jr. and Pennsylvania House Democrat Pamela DeLissio are also expected to attend.
And while you will only be able to take a few peeks under the Chevrolet Impala’s hood and smile for photos with Stewart’s car, kids get the opportunity to drive a NASCAR simulated arcade game.
So put on your seatbelts – unless you’re playing the arcade game, then you don’t have to – and wake up a little earlier this Saturday. It’s time you updated your Facebook picture, anyway.
