Name calling in health care

    In recent political debates, patients have often been dubbed “consumers” or “empowered patients” but health policy expert Jessie Gruman argues that those terms don’t fit the realities of health care in America.

    Gruman is president and founder of the Washington, D.C., think tank The Center for Advancing Health. In a conversation with WHYY health reporter Taunya English, she says the debate is more than a semantic argument.
