2012 Mt. Airy Night Market photos
The 2012 Mt. Airy Night Market again attracted thousands of people to Northwest Philadelphia. This was the second year for the Night Market in Mt. Airy. This year included more gourmet food trucks, live music stage and the addition of craft vendors. Reporter Jana Shea will have a full report on the Night Market, which will include reaction from the vendors, local retailers, and visitors.
Mt. Airy USA (MAUSA) and The Food Trust produced the event at a cost of nearly $30 thousand dollar. MAUSA Executive Director Anuj Gupta didn’t have a crowd estimate, but said The Food Trust would release its estimate later. Philadelphia Police told NewsWorks that last night’s crowd between 7000-8000.
The event closed down Germantown Avenue in Mt. Airy from Carpenter Lane to E. Mt. Airy Avenue from 3:00-11:30 p.m.

The video below shows how one vendor used a projector to attract attention. The video appears on the side of the Mt. Airy Presbyterian Church. Philadelphia illustrator, Justin Gray designed the graphics for the digital light projection as advertisement for Little Baby’s Ice Cream. He has also recently designed a coloring book for the company.
