Search continues for suspect in East Mt. Airy murder

Philadelphia police are still searching for a suspect in a weekend murder in the East Mt. Airy section of the city.

Sometime early Sunday morning, medics found Ryan Taylor, 22, on the 6600 block on Ross Street with a gunshot wound to the back of the head, according to police department officials. Taylor, of Juniata Park, was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:43 a.m.

Officer Jillian Russell said it’s still unclear when the shooting took place or when the medics, who were not specifically called to the address, arrived at Ross Street. The motive behind the shooting also remains unknown.
