Mount Airy Home Companion excerpt – White Plastic Stackable Chairs

This is another excerpt from Mount Airy Home Companion presented at the Allens Lane Art Center on May 27, 2012 in Philadelphia. This was a production by humorist Jim Harris and his band Saint Mad and actors from The Mount Airy Players.

This is a song called White Plastic Stackable Chairs by Neal Phillips and Sam Rossitto.

“Mount Airy Home Companion” is a localized spin-off of the public radio show A Prarie Home Companion. In this version, Harris pokes fun at all thigns Mt. Airy. Every stereotype you can think of. There is the neighborhood’s obsession with public radio, on-stage actors are part of a show called “Hot Air,”  there is an on-going skit about Weavers Way being a cult run by Glenn Bergman, and there’s constant jabs at Mt. Airy’s presumed fixation on tofu.

NewsWorks recorded the show and over the summer we’ll be presenting excerpts here.
