Rescue crews are searching for a man after a boating accident in Longport.

Authorities say that two men were in a pontoon boat when it struck a buoy then ran into a jetty near 11th Avenue around 11:30 p.m. Sunday.

Both men were ejected from the vessel, according to a report on 6ABC.

One of the men swam to shore and called police.

The missing man is 45-year-old Andrew Bittle, who is believed to have been driving the boat, according to the Associated Press.

Two Coast Guard boats and a helicopter are on the scene, the 6ABC report states.
