Man missing after pontoon boat crashes into Longport jetty

    Rescue crews are searching for a man after a boating accident in Longport.

    Authorities say that two men were in a pontoon boat when it struck a buoy then ran into a jetty near 11th Avenue around 11:30 p.m. Sunday. 

    Both men were ejected from the vessel, according to a report on 6ABC.

    One of the men swam to shore and called police.

    The missing man is 45-year-old Andrew Bittle, who is believed to have been driving the boat, according to the Associated Press.

    Two Coast Guard boats and a helicopter are on the scene, the 6ABC report states.
