Man fatally struck by train at Overbrook Station

A man was struck and killed by a train at the Overbrook station on Tuesday.

Just after 4 p.m., the victim, who is believed to be between 40 and 60 years old, was running along the platform when he slipped and fell onto the tracks, NBC10 reported. He was hit by the Amtrak Philadelphia-to-Harrisburg train while running to catch a SEPTA train.

Inbound and outbound service was temporarily suspended yesterday on the R5, Paoli/Thorndale Regional Rail line, as authorities investigated. The victim’s identity has not yet been released.
