Man charged with flying drone near cop copter during protest in Philly

Police say a 20-year-old Drexel University student has been arrested for operating a drone over a protest in Philadelphia and nearly hitting a police helicopter with it.

Joseph Roselli has been charged with aggravated assault, risking catastrophe, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person. No attorney information is available.

A group of about 300 protesters was marching through the streets Wednesday night over Donald Trump’s presidential win.

Police say at one point, the drone flew dangerously close to a police helicopter that was monitoring the protesters.

Police and news helicopters followed the drone as it made its way around downtown and landed on a building’s roof. They say Roselli picked up the drone and brought it inside.

Officers went to the building and arrested Roselli.
