Lewes Police Chief talks bullet proof vests in DC

Lewes Police Chief Jeffrey Horvath will testify before the Senate Law Enforcement Caucus & House Law Enforcement Caucus about the importance of body armor and the need to expand innovation.
As part of National Police Week, Senator Chris Coons is hosting the meeting that will also highlight the Bulletproof Vest Partnership Grant Act of 2012.   The measure, cosponsored by Coons, is expected to be voted on by the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday.  The legislation would provide funding to state and local law enforcement agencies so they can buy body armor through competitive grants from the Bureau of Justice Assistance.
