Krispy Kreme, local brewers pairing their products for animal charity fundraiser

Three seemingly unrelated things are coming together today in South Philly: doughnuts, beer and animals.

Devil’s Den bar is selling three different pairings all day today, combining Krispy Kreme doughnuts and local beers. No, the pairings aren’t free, but here’s where the animals come in.

A portion of the sales goes to the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society; $10 gets you the pairing of your choice with $4 going to PAWS.

Through the rest of the day, you can try any of these combos:

Original glazed doughnut with PBC’s Joe Porter
Cinnamon bun doughnut with Yards’ Thomas Jefferson Ale
Pumpkin spice cake doughnut with Weyerbacher’s Verbotem, a Belgian style pale ale

Thinking of going? Krispy Kreme recommends calling first: 215-339-0855.

Update, Oct. 27 Krispy Kreme tells us more than $1,000 was raised for PAWS, in part from a Krispy Kreme donation, and the rest from the more than 100 pairings sold.
