Kenney gives Springsteen seats to school fundraising group

Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney is donating his suite at Friday’s sold-out Bruce Springsteen concert to a school district fundraising group.

The Fund for the School District of Philadelphia is offering Kenney’s suite tickets for $556 on its website, and says all proceeds will go to support public education in Philadelphia.

Springsteen will perform at the Wells Fargo Center for one night only as part of his tour showcasing his 1980 album “The River.”

A spokeswoman for the mayor says the suite has 18 seats. She said the mayor has a suite for all events at the center, but he doesn’t plan to be there for the Springsteen concert.
