Three-day regatta detour begins Thursday on Kelly Drive
A portion of Kelly Drive will be closed from 10 a.m. Thursday through 8 p.m. Saturday due to the Stotesbury Cup Regatta along the Schuylkill this weekend.
Kelly Drive will be closed between Strawberry Mansion and Fountain Green drives.
Detour signs will be posted throughout the route and Captain Thomas Helker of the Philadelphia Police traffic office says delays are to be expected.
The regatta, which runs from May 18 to May 19, will have a designated parking area adjacent to Reservoir Drive for spectators. Only vehicles with a permit will be able to enter the regatta zone.
The detour:
Inbound (toward Center City): Head south of Strawberry Mansion Drive to Reservoir Drive then south on Reservoir Drive to Fountain Green Drive, and west on Fountain Green Drive back to Kelly Drive.
Outbound (toward East Falls): Head east on Fountain Green Drive to Reservoir Drive, then north on Reservoir Drive to Strawberry Mansion Drive, north on Strawberry Mansion Drive back to Kelly Drive.
