Delmarva Power has restored power to nearly all customers who lost electric service during Tuesday night’s powerful storms.

At the peak of the wind and rain, more than 76,500 Delmarva Power customers lost electricity. On Wednesday afternoon, power had been restored to about 52,000 customers. As of 9 a.m. Thursday, about 3,000 were still in the dark.

“The effort has been progressing well and our employees will continue to work until the job is done,” said Gary R. Stockbridge, Delmarva Power Region President. “Delmarva Power is working with local emergency management agencies to help ensure public safety.”

All customers served by Delmarva should have power restored by 4 p.m. on Friday, but most should get service back before then. You can monitor the progress on Delmarva Power’s website.
