Friday, July 20, 8:30pm. Lovett Library Park, 6945 Germantown Avenue. On Fridays until August 17, Mt. Airy USA, the Free Library, and Trolley Car Diner are presenting movies under the stars. This week enjoy the newest Muppet movie. Start grabbing lawn space at 8pm; the movies will start at 8:30pm. In the case of foul weather, the movies will show in the Clivden Carriage House (6401 Germantown Ave.).Come at 6:30 for food trucks and to picnic. Free.

The Awesome Fest Film Series: Doin’ It In The Park

Saturday, July 21, 8:30pm. Race Street Pier, Race Street and Columbus Boulevard. As part of The Awesome Fest’s outdoor screenings at Race Street Pier this summer, check out Doin’ it in the Park, a documentary about the history and culture of New York City’s outdoor summer basketball games. Directors Bobbito Garcia and Kevin Couliau visited 180 courts to tell this story through the voices of NBA players, neighborhood ballplayers, and blacktop heroes. Free.

Dog Days of Summer Block Party

Sunday, July 22, 12-5pm. 600 Block of South Street. Celebrate the Dog Days of Summer with the South Street Headhouse District with a block party. Enjoy hot dog art by Phantom Hand and Joel Spivak, parade your pets in a “hot dog” costume contest, compete to create the most fabulous hot dog toppings in a cookoff (and win a spot on Hot Diggity’s menu), and more. Free.
