RECEPTION: Eco + Fashion Exhibit

Wednesday, January 8, 5-7pm. Art Gallery at City Hall, Room 116.  See works that integrate design and environmentalism, art and ecology. See a wide variety of works by nearly 20 artists showcasing wearable art and sustainable fashion. Exhibit on view until February 28. Free.

DISCUSS: Mary Margaret Jones, Hargreaves at DAG

Thursday, January 9, 8am (sharp). Center for Architecture, 1218 Arch Street. Come to the Design Advocacy Group’s January meeting to hear Mary Margaret Jones of Hargreaves discuss designs for Penn’s Landing. Free.

Conversation: James Timberlake and Marguerite Rodgers

Thursday, January 9, 6:30-8pm. Drexel University, Mandell Auditorium, 33rd and Chestnut streets. Join husband and wife designers, interior designer Marguerite Rodgers and architect James Timberlake, for a conversation about their respective careers. Each will speak about their own practice and then will discuss influences, and intersecting design fields in a conversation moderated by Derek Gillman. Free.

Tour: Made in Philadelphia

Friday, January 10, 3-4pm. The Rosenbach Museum & Library, 2008-2010 Delancey Place. Take an intimate hands-on tour of the Rosenbach’s collection of Philly-made decorative objects, from furniture to silver, and learn about craftsmanship, style and Philadelphia artisans from 1750-1850.
