Injured teen wrestler talks about spinal surgery
A month after his release from the hospital, Mazzeratti Mitchell’s parents are still battling the courts for rights to treat their son.
The Delaware County teenager had spinal surgery last month to fix a wrestling injury. His parents were denied the option to treat him herbally.
Mitchell talked to Fox29 about how good it feels to be home. Though he’s walking pretty stiffly, he says he’s in no pain. The family has released video of the 17-year-old moving his arms and legs after the injury, saying there was no need for the court and hospital to intervene and demand the surgery.
Mitchell still faces outpatient therapy, but is already talking about playing football in the summer.
