In a change of tune, Bank of America won’t charge monthly debit card fee

Bank of America, just yesterday on the other side of the table, now joins Wells Fargo and TD Bank among those not charging monthly debit card usage fees.

The Philadelphia Business Journal reports the bank is the latest to get the hint from unhappy customers. Bank of America announced last month it would begin charging customers a $5 monthly fee for debit card use. That’s no longer the plan.

“We have listened to our customers very closely over the last few weeks and recognize their concern with our proposed debit usage fee,” co-Chief Operating Officer David Darnell said.
