Firefighters gathered from around the region to honor Lewes firefighter Tim McClanahan who died in a training accident Monday night.

Hundreds gathered in Sussex County this weekend to honor McClanahan, a longtime member of the Lewes Fire Department. Firefighters from Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania lined the streets near Lewes to pay their respects.

The 46-year-old volunteer firefighter fell while training on a helicopter at the Delaware Coastal Airport in Georgetown. Federal Aviation Administration will lead the investigation into the death.
