Human remains found at riverfront site in Camden County

Authorities say human remains have been found in South Jersey.

Camden County prosecutors say a skeletonized leg, the top of a skull and several small bones were discovered this week on the shoreline near Pyne Poynt Park, a site in north Camden which faces the Delaware River.

Investigators are trying to identify the remains, which will be analyzed by the state police and the state anthropologist.

It’s not clear how long the remains may have been at the site before they were found.

The discovery marked the second time in a week that a human leg was discovered on the Delaware River shore. Authorities say another leg apparently washed ashore in Gloucester County, and incident that also remains under investigation.
