Looking for personalized Christmas gifts?

This Saturday, the Mt. Airy Art Garage (MAAG) will be hosting its Third Annual “Holiday Art Market Extravaganza” from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The event will also be held Dec. 16, 22, and 23 at MAAG, located at 11 West Mt. Airy Ave.

“If you are looking for something that is unique and one of a kind, this is exactly where you want to go,” said president and co-founder Linda Slodki of the two-weekend event. “There is no piece that is identical to another piece”

The market will offer a diverse selection of fine arts and hand crafted items made by Northwest Philadelphia artists, including pieces of wood work, glass art, hand-painted silks, crocheted children’s clothing, leather crafts, quilts, graphic art and hand-painted furniture.

Slodki said the price range will accommodate everyone’s budget. Items will cost between $5 and $500.

“There shouldn’t be anyone that walks out of this place as if they couldn’t afford something,” said Slodki.

Arleen Olshan, co-founder of MAAG, said work representing approximately 50 artists will be featured in the annual market, including Kathy Robinson and Mary Lui Yoder, former owners of Artista, a Mt. Airy-based art gallery that closed in June 2011.

In addition, work by other member-artists, who are not participating in the holiday market, will also be on display, such as pieces by renowned artist Sara Steele, who is known for her floral, landscape, still life and abstract watercolor paintings.
