Pat Methany and Ron Carter to perform at Cape May’s 2016 spring jazz festival
Jazz greats Pat Methany and Ron Carter headline the Exit Zero Jazz Festival as it makes its biannual return to Cape May this weekend.
The two musicians debuted an impressive, critically acclaimed performance as a duet at the Detroit Jazz Festival in 2015.
Lisa Fischer, star of the Oscar-winning documentary Twenty Feet From Stardom and background singer for the Rolling Stones, Tina Turner, Chaka Khan and others, will also perform center stage with her band, Grand Baton.
Brooklyn’s High and Mighty Brass Band will get festival crowds dancing with their high energy blend of Afro-beat, hip hop and New Orleans funk.
Other notable acts to catch include the Afro-Cuban sounds of the Pedrito Martinez Group, the John Scofield Joe Lovano Quartet and the gruff blues vocals of Frank Bey.
Tickets are available as various three-day, two-day and one-day pass packages or by single ticket for individual shows.
