Heller on Comcast: Universal Foxwoods?

Fans of Inquirer columnist Karen Heller might have already spotted Saturday’s entertaining piece on the proposed Comcast Corp.-NBC Universal Inc. merger, but regular PlanPhilly readers might get a special kick this week.

Heller’s column, “A cornucopia of Comcast creativity,” suggests new synergies between the two corporate giants that could benefit Philadelphia. For instance, Tracy Morgan – one of the stars of “30 Rock,” the funniest show on television right now, “might add incessant Comcast spokesmen Shaq ‘N Stein to his on-air entourage – then promptly lose them in the Gallery food court,” she writes.

Then there was this helpful advice for a possible Philly theme park:

“… So we offer Universal Studios Foxwoods: Imagine – in a location yet to be determined and routinely to be moved. Slots and tots! Go behind the scenes and learn the mysterious wheeling-and-dealing of how casino gambling came to Philadelphia! Thrill on the economic ride of your life!

“Like a Comcast repairman, Universal Studios Foxwoods will be open sometime between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.”

We’re betting even the silent folks that own the real (or soon-to-be-real) Foxwoods Philadelphia got a hearty chuckle out of that.
