Heavy rain, thunderstorm threat continues through tomorrow

A cold front continues to move slowly through the region, delivering on and off pockets of heavy rain and thunderstorms.
Portions of the Shore saw thunderstorms and heavy rain overnight.
At 7:25 a.m., an area of heavy rain and some embedded thunderstorms extends from generally south of I-195 and north of Atlantic City, heading to the northeast. A smaller concentration of light to moderate rain is near Trenton and moving east along the I-195 corridor.
The National Weather Service expects another round of showers and thunderstorms between the afternoon and evening hours today, producing possibly up to two inches an hour in some locations.
“If these amounts of rain materialize, dangerous street and highway flooding would occur,” the bulletin says.
The precipitation threat will not end until tomorrow night, according to the National Weather Service.
