Haddonfield’s First Night is designed to be family-friendly

First-Night-2017 Logo-Left-Tilt-200Bidding the past year adieu is sometimes a challenge for families who want to have fun together on New Years Eve, but not so in South Jersey.

Haddonfield’s First Night celebration is an early bird party filled with family-friendly entertainment and fireworks.

The alcohol-free event will feature 22 live acts at venues along Kings Hwy, however the highlight of the evening will be dramatic fireworks launched at 9 p.m..

Headliners include musicians Hotsy Totsy, Iona and Philadelphia’s own The Trammps, plus tribute artists Diamond Reno (Neil Diamond), Paul the Beatle (Paul McCartney) and Shawn Gerhard (Garth Brooks).

There will also be plenty of comedy, magic and more with “master of unusual comedy” Michael Lauziere, hypnotist,The Incredible Boris, magician Doc Swan and Crazy Rhthym Fancy Feet.

Parents will especially appreciate the Kid Zone at Haddonfield Central School with entertainment and activities geared to children 9 and under, including silly songsters, Paisley Pickles and magicians, Doc Swan and Brian Richards. There will also be a kids’ craft session happening over at the Markeim Arts Center.

Three food trucks – The Cow and the Curd, The Tot Cart and My Four Suns – will be present together with downtown restaurants offering fare both inside and outdoors.

Admission buttons cost $15 or $40 for family pack of four (six for $60) when purchased by Christmas or $15 after (no bulk discounts after Dec. 25). Children ages 2 and under enter for free.

Free parking is available at the Haddonfield PATCO station. A shuttle bus service, which runs every 15 minutes, will transport attendees between locations starting at 6 p.m.
