Gun shot fired at UD library

University of Delaware officials say a 2008 graduate tried to commit suicide by shooting himself in the chest on campus today around 6 A.M.

The alum, a man in his 20’s who still lives in Newark, was found on the east patio of the library.  UD Police arrived along with paramedics, secured the scene and determined there was no threat to the campus community.  The man is at Christiana Hospital in fair condition.

The UD Library is open as usual for staff, faculty and students.
