Guard members welcomed home

Army National Guard soldiers with the Delaware 160th Engineer Company are being welcomed home today in Middletown.

The soldiers served for about ten months in Afghanistan, augmenting a company from the Hawaii National Guard.  They were involved in constructing, repairing and maintaining vertical infrastructures and base camps, and worked with the Afghan National Army conducting logistical patrols throughout the country.

Local soldiers on the team come from Middletown, Bear, Newark, Dover and Harrington.
