Greenworks Progress Report

Mayor Michael Nutter released the first annual Greenworks Philadelphia Progress Report as well as plans for 2011 Wednesday at a small neighborhood park in North Philadelphia.

The festivities included food from local vendors, a tour of the Greenworks improvements that had been accomplished in the neighborhood, and live music.

“The amazing achievements of Greenworks Philadelphia in just its first year show what can happen when you set an ambitious goal and involve government, business, non-profits and citizens in achieving it,” Nutter said.  “By combining the strengths of each and providing opportunities for collaboration, Philadelphia has become a national model for how cities can aggressively pursue a green and sustainable future.”
